While working on the internet, it becomes hard to trust the online business companies because of the scam and fraud websites. There are so many companies advertising their products showing that they are the best, the quality is just great, the prices are right and in the end, all this happens to be nothing but a lie. Some of them just run away with your money while others sell the less quality things with high prices. And in the end all the customers are left with is disappointment. But now, with search engine optimization, it has become easy to find the right companies which at least fulfill the given words. Giving you more than you expect a good price, and a good quality after which you leave with a smile and satisfaction on your face. And also they promise you the refund if you are not satisfied. There are now companies offer you great deal of prices, and sell you for what you have actually paid for. For the half price you are getting the half work and half success rate. So how can you judge that for what are you paid for and how can you guess that it’s worth it?

But however, for a new one it becomes a bit difficult and confusing the process of search engine optimization. If you are in search for a company which is well aware of how to handle your site, you should always go for the famous and smart companies on which you can trust. Such companies have trained and experienced employers and they give you their very website. Also read the reviews of such companies which are professional, knowledgeable and provide you with the weekly or monthly reports. Reading reviews is also good to avoid the scam and fake companies.

Also make sure that company for which you are going is running from at least one or two years and there are at least a few reviews available on them. Do not go for those companies having no previous records, at least not when you are already short with your budget. See the work they have done for the previous websites as well so that you can judge whether they are capable of handling your work or not. Also ask them for a proof about how many jobs they are dealing with. Do not just go for the low prices but also the quality they are going to provide. A small communication with the SEO handler can really help to decide.

When you are starting up a SEO campaign you have two options. One is to manage everything yourself with the help of no one. Second is to hire a search consultant. Working on SEO is nothing simple. One has to concentrate on both aspects of On Page and Off Page optimization. A little explanation of both can help one decide the importance of both.

On Page SEO:
On page SEO is just like it sounds, all that is in front of you on the page. It usually involves the right use of tags, content, titles and the right URL as well. The efficient and quality websites also works with other websites to promote each other by advertising each other’s website on their own websites. This results in more visitors to your site. While working on the On page, the content you write is very important. If you want visitors to visit your website again and again make sure that your website is well organized and easy to use.

There are some websites only working on the tags and small description which wastes the time of the visitors. Make sure that your tags match with your content or at least you advertise the right content so that your visitors are willing to visit again. Some people might also feel that they cannot handle all this work alone especially the research and content writing is something not possible for everyone. It requires proper information of everything and there are many people hiring consultants and web developers and also the content writers so that they can manage their ON page work. But however, if you know what you want to write and display it becomes very easy without the help of any one. And Also along with ON page SEO one has to equally concentrate on the OFF page SEO.

Off Page SEO:
In off page SEO, the work involves the link building which eventually raise the traffic of your website. Once a website is found on the very first pages of the search engine or suggested by them the number of visitors is increased. Some people might feel that a good content is enough for the website itself to attract the visitors and thus they concentrate less on the off page seo. However, while working on the website, one has to concentrate on both. For example, you write the best content by the most professional writers and web developers.

But there are no back links? In this case your work is almost ignored. Your content might be better from many other websites but because you do not work on the off page, this results in fewer visitors. Link building involves the work on blogs, forums, article directories, social networking etc. People also assume that this is something difficult but trust me it’s not. It takes less than an hour and the result is always worth your time.

StillSecure®, a managed network security solutions and certified compliance company, today announced that its suite of comprehensive managed security services can now be embedded within a public cloud infrastructure. StillSecure’s network security appliance, Cloud Network Security Appliance (NSA), can protect customer cloud servers at most public cloud providers.

Until now, organizations leveraging the public cloud were forced to either build their own security infrastructure, use “outboard” security appliances, or had no security at all. Unfortunately, infrastructure as a service (IaaS) users were not able to easily outsource security for their applications and data hosted in the cloud. These cloud applications were either left unchecked or required significant resources to secure.

Now, with StillSecure Cloud NSA, organizations can quickly and easily spin up a managed security cloud server within their public cloud infrastructure. Built on top of CentOS, a free operating system distribution based upon the Linux kernel, Cloud NSA can serve as the security gateway device providing inline services such as managed firewall, IDPS, or WAF. Additionally, Cloud NSA can also provide out-of-band services such as IDS, log management, file integrity monitoring, or vulnerability scanning. Cloud NSA can also deliver StillSecure’s comprehensive PCI compliance service, PCI Complete.

“Security in a cloud environment can be both a black box and a minefield of risk at the same time. Most people aren’t prepared to cope with the kind of exposure and weaknesses that used to be hidden behind a firewall. Fear of the unknown and having to rely on the “just trust us” model are a bad combination. That’s why security remains one of the key factors preventing cloud adoption,” said Carl Brooks, an infrastructure and cloud computing analyst at The 451 Group. “Providing a managed services approach so that users feel more in control when operating in a cloud environment is a viable way to improve security. It does not require a deep understanding of the security space, but it does let end users leverage additional services and expertise to achieve practical security results. StillSecure’s introduction of Cloud NSA does just that – it gives providers an important new managed service without forcing them to understand the security space like an expert, and yet still gives organizations a chance to leverage an outsourced service to handle security and compliance.”

“Establishing a tight security perimeter around your cloud instances is critical to reducing your attack surface and making security manageable,” said James Brown, CTO of StillSecure. “With the introduction of Cloud NSA, StillSecure is leading the effort to embed comprehensive managed security services into public cloud environments.”

About StillSecure

For IT executives facing escalating security threats and evolving compliance requirements, and data centers looking to cement long-term customer relationships, StillSecure designs and delivers managed network security and certified compliance solutions so you can focus on growing your core business.

StillSecure’s full suite of managed security services provides military-grade network security in dedicated, cloud and hybrid environments. Its flagship product, Safe Access®, is a secure network access control (NAC) solution that ensures a company’s protection against compromised and dangerous endpoints.

As opposed to vendors with uncertified partial fixes, or worse, self-audited solutions, StillSecure unites its security experts with certified processes and innovative technologies to provide a holistic approach and solutions to eliminate the need for dedicated resources, as well as juggling multiple vendors, products and requirements.

System breaches have to potential to cause significant harm, especially in the web hosting community. They can result in downtime for customers’ websites, leave data vulnerable and overall simply create a hassle for company administrators who must deal with the problem.

On Saturday, web hosting provider eUKhost faced such a dilemma with an attack particularly affecting the company’s billing system platform. The result? To ensure stability and data safety, the company took the measure of transferring its system to a new server.

So how did hackers infiltrate the system? In a statement to customers regarding the matter, the web host said it wasn’t exactly sure just yet. However, eUKhost did disclose how the breach was detected. According to the company, an unauthorized IP address appeared on the system’s “allow list.” With that set up, hackers were able to successfully access the billing platform.

Meanwhile, the server transfer of the billing system was due to be completed by the web host today. Other actions taken to ensure security included requesting customer password resets along with changing the company’s encryption algorithm.

“We have not noticed an increase in compromised accounts of clients and our initial research does seem to suggest the perpetrator wasn’t out to cause damage to our customers, but until we better understand the nature of this problem, we can not take anything for granted,” commented eUKhost.com.

A report from The Register (theregister.co.uk), stated that UrduHack, a hacking group based in Pakistan was responsible for the incident. John Strong, eUKhost managing director discussed the issue with the publication.

eUKhost provides for a number of hosting solutions in the areas of dedicated, shared, reseller, cloud and VPS. Earlier this year in February, the company announced a partnership renewal with Smarter Tools providing for the distribution of its software. For more information regarding the billing system breach, view a statement from eUKhost here (euk-status.com).

Cyber security and data protection remain increasingly important issues in the U.S. and worldwide. Resources and tools to combat such challenges are constantly being developed in the form of technology and legislation. Most recently, U.S. lawmakers considered their own plan to address cyber concerns.

The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) received approval from the U.S. House just earlier this week. The bill is intended to help guard tech networks against cyber threats by allowing threat information sharing between the U.S. government and security firms.

Despite well intentions, the bill remains controversial with opponents fearing it would too broadly define exactly what information can be used in the sharing process.

In the political arena, the legislation has drawn high support from Republican lawmakers while mostly being rebuked by Democrats. One of the largest backers of the bill is U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) who applauded CISPA’s passage in a press release on Wednesday. Boehner said the House listened to “private-sector job creators, civil liberties advocates, and technology experts” when drafting the legislation. Boehner also stated that the legislation would “help stop cyber-attacks that threaten our economy and our privacy while keeping the Internet free from government control.”

“I would urge Senate Democrats to quickly consider this bill, and send it to the president for his signature,” Boehner continued.

Despite Boehner’s wishful thinking regarding the bill being signed by the White House, it could face an uphill battle. The administration of U.S. President Barack Obama has already signaled it’d veto the legislation in its current form on Wednesday.

“H.R. 3523 fails to provide authorities to ensure that the Nation’s core critical infrastructure is protected while repealing important provisions of electronic surveillance law without instituting corresponding privacy, confidentiality, and civil liberties safeguards,” stated the White House. The White House also said the bill failed to sufficiently provide oversight and lacked “sufficient limitations on the sharing of personally identifiable information.”

Introduced in November, the legislation has been compared by some to other controversial bills including the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). Legislators agreed to place those bills on indefinite hold in January following massive opposition from tech providers including Google and Wikipedia.

IT enterprise provider Terremark, whose portfolio includes services such as managed hosting, colocation, and cloud, recently announced that they’ve completed an add-on to their data center in São Paulo, Brazil.

Terremark says the expansion makes the facility one of the largest in the area, giving Terremark an additional fifteen thousand square feet of raised space.

Wireless provider Verizon acquired Terremark earlier this year in April for $1.4 billion dollars.

Commenting on the matter, Hugo Zanon, GM of Verizon Terremark operations in the country, stated, “Our main focus in expanding our São Paulo data center is to provide local customers with a secure, highly available hosting environment for their mission-critical applications.”

“The NAP do Brasil offers our multinational customers a globally connected facility they can leverage as they deploy the IT resources needed to tap the growing Brazilian and Latin American markets,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the facility has the ability to host 1000 thousand servers, a pretty impressive statistic. Terremark already has around fifty data facilities in locations including Dallas, London, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Miami.

Other recent news regarding Terremark includes an expansion of its services, thanks to a new acquisition by Verizon.

Most recently, Verizon acquired cloud enterprise provider CloudSwitch, which the company has already combined with Terremark. Upon the acquisition, Verizon President of the global enterprise unit Bob Toohey stated, “With the acquisition of CloudSwitch, Verizon has taken another step forward in defining the enterprise cloud.” For more information on Terremark’s data center expansion, visit: http://www.terremark.com/about/news/archive/2011/09012011.aspx

Flexiant, a UK-based cloud infrastructure software and services provider – and Europe’s original public cloud provider – and Standing Cloud, Inc. a leader in the emerging platform as a service (PaaS) marketplace, have gone live with their “Standing Cloud powered by Flexiant” integration, bringing a vastly simplified method of deploying and managing cloud-hosted applications to European cloud users.

“Standing Cloud powered by Flexiant” marries an application layer from Standing Cloud with Flexiant’s Extility cloud product. Extility customers will be able to find and immediately use around 100 popular web applications—WordPress, SugarCRM, DotProject and OpenBravo, to name a few—complete with built-in monitoring and management tools that ease system administration headaches. Developers can use PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, and Python to support rapid testing and live deployment. Pricing starts at $38.95 per month.

Together, Standing Cloud and Flexiant aim to remove the mystery of the cloud for “informal buyers” who have struggled with accessing cloud technology. Forrester Research defines this group as including application developers, innovative business users and service providers.

The “Standing Cloud powered by Flexiant” integration includes a separate Flexiant branded area of the Standing Cloud web site, and offers the ability to register and run a free trial of the various applications, before opting for full hosting. This allows users to see how flexible and immediate cloud application provisioning really can be.

“Standing Cloud powered by Flexiant is an exciting new way to bring the promise of cloud computing to business users and developers. By connecting Standing Cloud’s point and click interface to their infrastructure, Flexiant’s customers no longer need to have system administration skills to use it productively,” said David J. Jilk, CEO of Standing Cloud.

As well, earlier this year, Standing Cloud began expanding its support for data centers in the UK and Europe so that users could take advantage of the company’s ability to restore their application in minutes to another cloud in case of downtime on their primary cloud provider. For more info, read “Standing Cloud Facilitates Privacy Law Compliance in the EuroCloud” (Standingcloud.com).

“We found we had a lot in common with Standing Cloud, in our determination to look at things from the users’ point of view. We’ve created a service that ‘just works’, that doesn’t need a lot of knowledge or skills. You shouldn’t have to hire someone to manage your cloud computing, you should be able to do it yourself.

You may be quite aware of the plan in the United States to save money by closing federal data centers. Well, now, Canada is planning its own data center consolidation. According to a release by the Canadian government, the country plans to move from having around 300 data centers to just below twenty, accounting for closures of around 280 data centers.

Along with the plan, the Canadian government will also move from 100 email systems to just one. The newly consolidated services will be placed under “Shared Services Canada,” a new organization.

It’s a pretty large consolidation effort. However, it really comes as no surprise. As technology advances, it becomes more compact, requiring less space. Then there’s the economic factor that should be taken into account.

Commenting on the matter in a press release, Canadian Minister of Public Works and Government Services Rona Ambrose stated, “Canadians work hard for their money and expect our Government to manage taxpayers dollars responsibly.”

Portion of the release on the matter states, “This will improve services to Canadians, make IT more secure and reliable, and save taxpayers’ dollars in line with the Government of Canada’s plan to return to balanced budgets.”

The move comes as the country looks strengthen its economy in the wake of the worldwide economic crisis. In the United States alone, the U.S. government is planning to close 373 data centers by sometime next year. Earlier this year, Meritalk, an IT research group estimated that the U.S. could save nearly eighteen billion from closures in the United States.
